Driver of the Year 2018

Michael Williams Driver Technician from Petrolog Fleet Stanlow walked away from the Driver of the Year competition being crowned HOYER Petrolog’s top driver of 2018. Michael has worked for HOYER for over 2 ½ years.

Fourteen drivers representing all of our major contracts were invited to the final event on 18th April held for the 3rd year running at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. The drivers competed in 7 events; both practical and written exercises to test their all-round ability. Michael came out on top with outstanding scores in the Rollover Prevention and Slow Speed/Reversing Manoeuvring exercises where his skills really shone through. Michael was pushed all the way by the other competitors and it was a fantastic performance from everyone invovled.

Once again congratulations to Michael and also outstanding achievements from Stuart Honour (Petrolog Fleet, South East) in 2nd place and with Derek Dawson (Petrolog Fleet, Morley) coming in 3rd.

I am sure all of the drivers will agree that the day was challenging but fun.  We look forward to the event next year to see if there will be a new driver and a different contract at the top.
